I’m currently finishing it and I’m curious if there is a heat shield required behind the fire place or can I frame and drywall behind it?

Comment on Insulating Concrete Forms – What you need to know by Angela Waterford https://buildersontario.com/insulating-concrete-forms#comment-62033 Mon, 10 Jun 2019 09:49:49 +0000 http://buildersontario.com/?p=525#comment-62033 It’s interesting to know that insulating concrete forms can be used into something like Lego blocks to help make my house’s foundation. If the forms themselves come in different sizes and shapes, maybe I can find someone to install some foundation forms that are compatible with the home I plan to build. I think they’ll help me determine the differences of the interior cavities so that I can choose what type of concrete forms I should choose for my future house, so it’s best if I hire someone to help me with the installation as well.

Comment on Septic System Cost – Ontario by Winston Kirkpatrick https://buildersontario.com/septic-system-cost-ontario#comment-61873 Thu, 06 Jun 2019 18:14:16 +0000 http://buildersontario.com/?p=3855#comment-61873 I have an existing grey water system that is working well. If I was to install a septic system for a flush toilet only what size septic tank would be required? Only the toilet would be piped into the septic tank.

Comment on What You Need To Know About Construction Liens In Ontario by Donna https://buildersontario.com/construction-lien-in-ontario#comment-61872 Thu, 06 Jun 2019 15:57:25 +0000 http://buildersontario.com/?p=3141#comment-61872 House next to me is under construction. Total gut job. They have also Jack hammered the basement perimeter to install a weeping tile system. This house has always leaned back from the front with a twist to the side.
This house used to graze my upstairs bathroom peak however since construction it is now crushing my shingles on this peak. There have been no permits obtained and the city has put up a cease work until permits are obtained. My question is how do I protect myself and my property to be sure the lean is addressed.

Thanks Donna

Comment on How to Design and Build a Deck by Benjamin Andrews https://buildersontario.com/how-to-design-and-build-a-deck#comment-61863 Wed, 05 Jun 2019 18:29:44 +0000 http://buildersontario.com/?p=1569#comment-61863 I found it interesting that you state that posts have to be inserted when the deck is more than 48″ off of the ground. My wife and I want to build a deck so we can have family over for barbeques during the summer. I will keep this in mind while we are planning the deck design.
